There are many ways in which you can hang your new wall clock, no matter its size and weight. In rental properties you will want to avoid nails in the walls, and even in your own home you may wish to find an alternative that will not cause permanent alterations to the structure. Some surfaces can not have nails hammered into them either and this can pose a problem should you wish to decorate. This is why we have outlined below some effective ways in which you can hang your wall clock without nails!
The first is the least permanent, and great for rental properties! You can use adhesive tape to hang your wall clock so that it can be easily removed without a mark. This is also a great idea if you want to move your wall clock in the future. You can find effective adhesive tape at hardware or craft stores and there are many varieties to choose from. You need to make sure that the surface is flat and both the clock and the wall have been recently cleaned. The number of strips you should use will depend upon the weight of the clock, but once applied you can position it on the wall. Press and hold for 30 seconds and voila! Your wall clock is stable and secure.
Hang it from the ceiling
Hanging from the ceiling is dependent on the clock. Often clocks that can be hung in this manner come with their own hardware to do so. They consist of a metal bar or two which can be attached to the ceiling. This is a more permanent fixture but makes for a great decorative piece for your living or dining room.
If your home already has crown molding in place you can use this to hang your wall clock. You can easily add a picture rail if your home is newer and does not have such structures around the ceiling. A cord and hook attached to the back of the clock can be attached to your crown molding or picture rail and can be moved with ease.
Use a shelf
If all else fails, you can always use a shelf to position your new wall clock. Many clocks are made to stand on a flat surface, such as a shelf or mantle piece. If you are unable to utilise any of the other options, and wish to avoid nails in the wall, then this can be a great alternative. You are not limited to modern clocks which can stand in such a way, these clocks come in a range of styles from the more antique to modern designs. No matter your interior design, there is a clock to suit your needs.
